The streets of downtown Dayton as rich in captivating views as they are in history. So naturally I suggested to Max that we explore the area around RiverScape MetroPark for his senior photos, and he agreed. The park has a variety of landscapes and architecture in and around it (everything from manicured gardens to century old buildings, and modern glass skyscrapers), and looks right out over the Great Miami River.
Now, this was a sunset (or “golden hour”) session, and very quickly we began running out of available light as the sun dipped behind the buildings. I had planned this on purpose, though! I brought my off-camera lighting in a portable softbox to fill in shadows while the sunset provided some eye-catching backlighting. This allowed the opportunity for me to create some unique images for Max that we would not have been able to manage otherwise.
We had a great time. Best of luck with where life takes you, Max!
